Logo for Quilombo's Capoiera School in Kingston

This project involved creating a logo which could be used for Quilombo’s Capoiera School in Kingston. My reference for creating this logo was an image which is fostering the light, giving me ideas about how I could present this concept. The title of the image for an event back in 2019 was called "Sharing the Light" which means light means light as in knowledge, not light as in anything that prospers which anyone has that was sharing. I decided to use berimbaus instead of hands, berimbaus are a very iconic element for Capoiera and I had to decide how I could develop this in a positive way. I had to decide how I could demonstrate with an image that had different skin colour hands bringing diversity are contributing to one common purpose and that is to promote Capoeira in a positive way.
